Back in 1973 a Joe Dan Petty, Larry Howard, Dru Lombar, and Rick Burnett got together in Georgia and formed the band Grinderswitch, who for the next decade continued to travel extensively and released 4 label albums and 3 own releases.

After an extensive break Dru Lombar decided to revive the band, but within a short space of time died, in September 2005.
