The Honey Wilders
The Honey Wilders is a seven piece rock ‘n roll band from San Jose in the USA. Phil “Honey” Ayer (lead vocal / harmonica), Marshall “Wilder” Brengle (guitar / vocals), Aaron “Papa” Madsen (lead guitar / vocals), Ryan “Thunder” Barry (bass guitar / vocals), Loren “Bunny” Rendler (drums), Erik “Ian” Johnsgard (keyboard / vocals) and Jeff “Fozzie” Fitzgerald (guitar/ vocals) deliver a high octane rock space with a zest of the 21st Century to pep it up.
The sound sits bang on the spot that fans of rock ‘n roll expect to hear, but with the addition of the instruments and players the band is able to add considerable depth to the material and they have freshened it all with a modern relevance.
It still remains one of life’s mysteries to me how so many musicians can not only fit on the one stage, but more importantly retain a tight focus, yet The Honey Wilders manage this ably and not only do they work well as a unit, the music is even somewhat muted. This is sound which would work well across a range of venues and the band have the ability to mix the styles, which keeps the ears finely tuned to where the sound heads off next.
Their latest release, the eleven track LP Singles for Singles is available on *
