Running the Risk
Running the Risk are the archetypal rock band, recently having completed the line-up Nicki Taylor (Vocal), Nick Bell (guitar), Curtis Corwin (bass) and Aaron Cohan (drums) are from Los Angeles in the USA.
Well here it is, winter has finally arrived, cold and misty, but the day brightened up when I caught an email from Nicki introducing Running the Risk. It takes my lugs a moment to tune in to rock, but the adjustment was rapid and what poured out of the speakers was some decent growling sweaty material.
A great start for the band, the quartet contain decent musicians who have gelled rapidly and been able to carve out some room in the genre. The vocal powers over the saw of the guitar and the percussion drives the music forward, then the bass, well that’s not normal bass noises, great stuff.
Running the Risk be found playing locally, I don’t think it will be very long before the tremors from the San Andreas fault are felt wider, is this what was meant by the big one?
As a new band there isn’t much to let you see video wise, so let’s just try one of their audio tracks.
I’ll definately be keeping my ears out for the progression of Running the Risk and for someone who has never been a fan of pure rock, that suprises me to type it.
