Noah T

Noah T is unlike any artists I have reviewed before. The ‘usual’ for me is bands, with vocals, and usually rock based.

Noah T is from Tulsa, Oklahoma in the USA; and for one man he makes a beautiful, spooky, and emotional sound. Using layers of acoustic guitar, bass, chord organ, bells, melodica and hand percussion to construct an all engulfing alternative indie sound.

He has a new album Is Anybody Home? scheduled for release on 17th of July, and I for one am much anticipating it. I have been lucky enough to hear the first three tracks off the album (as you can be), and if these tracks are a fair representation of what is to come after, this full length could be something really special.

The stand-out track for me, is the title track. The song is simple, and made up mainly of guitar and clapping. The mood the track creates is beautiful, and it would be a crime if it is not used in a film. This is an area I think Noah T has the potential to be a real success, and that is taking nothing away from the music itself, but the mood would compliment moving images perfectly.

One of the reasons I enjoy doing reviews is because it exposes me to music just like this, that I would never hear in my day-to-day life. This is the first artist I have heard from Tulsa, and I love it.

Nathan is working with the indie bands blog, whilst he identifies a more permanent role in the Music Business. His degree in Music and Live Events Management gives some idea as the area in which he hopes to specialise. If you are in the business and looking to recruit a graduate, please feel free to drop him an email at nathan @ indiebandsblog.com.
