Metro Station

The embryonic stage of the band, was when Trace Cyrus (Singer and lead guitar) and Mason Musso (lead singer and rhythm guitarist) met in early 2006 and started to write songs together. Metro Station are unashamedly a band who writes for and relates to the teenage generation. Writing about teenage aspirations and angst, their first single ‘Seventeen Forever’ has the memorable chorus line ‘we won’t be seventeen forever, but we can get away with this tonight’ which encapsulates the conflicts of the teen generation, After just three months on Myspace the single rose to the top of the unsigned bands Myspace charts. Blake Healy (synth and bass) and Anthony Improgo on drums complete the line up of the band.

This early success was followed by shows at The Echo, supporting Beck and at the Viper Room. In late 2006 the band signed with Red Ink, after an intern found them onMyspace, recording their eponymous debut album.

Metro Station have enjoyed continued success with tours in the USA and abroad.

The development and growth of the band has been driven by a fan-base, who push the band profile far and wide. The combination of utilising the Internet and focus on a heart-felt angst, make Metro Station a band Indie Bands blog is pleased to have a chance to review.
