28 degrees taurus are jinsen liu (Guitar / Vocal) and karina dacosta (Lead vocal / Bass) plus touring artists and are based in Boston in the USA. They describe their music as Psychedelic Shoegaze and I think we can run with that description.
28 degrees taurus
I imagined myself in some surreal far eastern market, surrounded by traders frozen in silence, as 28 degrees taurus introduce a tempo and composition structure which immediately catches the listener off guard. The music is incredibly powerful as it mesmorises the brain, encapsulating a haunting beat and vocal composition. Sounds at once appear distinct, yet that is an illusion, as the band use heavy velveting to the out-put, which entices the audience in to a stupor -entranced – yet emotionally engaged.
There is no doubt that these are highly talented song writers, who manage to tease out the soul of their songs, stripping away the unnecessary, yet able to leave a multi-layered echo chamber which takes the brain to spaces new.
For a change, I don’t want the speakers up to full sound, as the gentle waves of sound are far better plucked from the air at a more even volume, as if like chocolate melting in the mouth.
28 degrees taurus are precisely the sort of band that makes exploring the world of music so rewarding. They are hugely expressive and capable, yet not highly visible.
