The Swing Movement – Recently released

The Swing Movement are concentrating on creating some new material at present, but have one show scheduled for this month: Nation Of Shopkeepers, Leeds on 26th November.

Whilst they are preparing their new material, Patrick, sent me over three tracks which were recorded earlier this year.

Fighting Freakshow Circus
has the band playing tight and well paced indie rock. I also just love the bullet shaped visualisation, with the bullet leaving the casing. Visualisations often tell me something about the track and this has the impression of a piece of music heading somewhere, but you weren’t reading this to hear about my psychology.

Notes of Defiance is a track which demonstrates the versatility of the band, as they slow the pace down to an acoustic led piece, with some great guitar which rounds off the track superbly.

Hurricanes is another acoustic piece which on this occasion showcases the unmistakeable voice of Ben Walker.

It will be interesting to hear the new material  the band come up with over the next couple of months. Their ability to play a wide range of material and the distinctive vocals could well make for some really great tracks.

The Indie bands blog will keep on top of this band who are still in the embryonic stage and should make a break through any time soon.
