Andy De Rosa and Electric Mojo
Very early on this year, I wandered along to see The Steepwater Band at Bush Hall in London and had the chance to see Andy De Rosa and Electric Mojo who were also playing on the bill.
I had planned to get this article up a while ago, but events overtook me, time to rectify my omission.
Andy De Rosa and Electric Mojo comprise Andy De Rosa (Vocals/guitars/song-writing), Andy Hodge (Bass guitar & backing vocals), Dave Wright (Keyboards) and Neal Thomson (Drums), who describe themselves as the meeting of British Rock, American Rock ‘n’ Roll, Blues, Funk and Roots music.
Rock and Blues is a crowded space and as with all crowded spaces, there is a lot of dross, Andy De Rosa and Electric Mojo rise above the fray, due to a variety of factors, not least of which is the creative songwriting. Superbly bouncing top notch guitars with keyboards, the band are able to create some real depth to their output.
This is not my natural home territory and a space I instinctively avoid, but I particularly enjoy the excellent guitar skills which manage to whisp from rock riffs to plucked strings with effortless ease. More than that, the innovative use of electronica in support generates a real emotional flair to the song-writing skills of Andy De Rosa.
Through inter-play of the instrumentation, Andy De Rosa and Electric Mojo are able to engage jaded ears like mine and want to listen to more. Well worth heading out to see with their new line-up during 2011.

Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this blog. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s tough to get that “perfect balance” between superb usability and visual appearance. I must say you’ve done a superb job with this. Additionally, the blog loads extremely fast for me on Chrome. Superb Blog!
