DIVORCE

DIVORCE a five piece outfit, who come from Glasgow got together because they were frustrated that the kind of music they liked wasn’t being played.

DIVORCE

Rather than sit around and wait for something to happen: Sinead Youth (vocals); Hillary Van Scoy (guitar and vocals); VSO (bass and vocals); Andy Browntown (drum and vocals) and; Vickie MacDonald (guitar and no vocals) who  make up the band, decided to get out there and make their own noise.

While they describe their influences as being much later, I am reminded of Crass and the lyrics of Eve Libertine and Joy De Vivre.

DIVORCE sit well on the Indie Bands blog, with a sound that is best experienced live in a small venue.

Their eponymous first EP was released in late June, on which the raw energy comes pulsating through, successfully translating their live power to recorded sound.

To meet an ever growing audience, after a residency at Optimo, they can now be regularly found playing in and around Glasgow, with a few performances coming up in October in London, Leeds, Brighton and Manchester, well worth the time.
