Sindrome Moscow

Sindrome Moscow an indie rock band from Valencia in Spain centres around the duo of guitarist Miguel and the vocalist and bassist Aleks, that is not to denigrate the skills of the session musicians.

Sindrome Moscow

I oft ponder on broken English introductions and my paucity of shattered other languages I vaguely know and absolutely refuse to use the automated translators to deal with in moments and here we are two weeks later.

Oh Clara V. please come back in to my life (I hope the baby, now 2 years old I guess, is doing well and look forward to more news on (Vaqueros Paganos- The Pagan Cowboys) as Clara was my maestro in Spanish. It’s strange how connections are lost through nothing other than time constraints, but such is the thread of life and I guess that is where being a writer of music and with a band or two I have gotten to know makes it all the more rewarding. I can recall moments in time as I got to know those bands, not only my interaction with them, but the events occurring as I was doing so. Makes my life a great place to be and thank you Sindrome Moscow for adding another seared memory to my mind, their review will always bring back memories of thoughts of Clara, her mother dying, her baby being born, meeting her husband Maca, meeting at The Wheelbarrow, finding Junkstar that night, Julie still being alive when I drove back home and me giving Clara the CD Junkstar kindly gave me. So, on a personal note, thank you Sindrome Moscow. But enough I hear you scream, are these guys any good?

Well, yes.

I just loved the introduction email of  ’..I would like to show you this clip we made, it’s about an escape from House of a cassette tape who’s in running out from new technologies..’. As a reader of the Indie Bands Blog you will assuredly be as armour plated to wallpaper music as I believe you need to be, to appreciate something that doesn’t lie in the cesspit of chasing the dollar for the sake of…….. Chasing the dollar. aka famous for being famous / exposing your (name body part) / in the servitude of a record label that bends the ears of Governments (until they sack you) / having appeared on a TV ‘Talent Show’ run by an egotistical and hugely successful self-promoter- far more famous and higher earning that you will be on this path (until you are dust and a new season kicks off at which time you are pure profit handled by a no hope gofer) – all of which control the ears of the aforementioned fans. If you are one of those then – Then the Indie Bands Blog isn’t the right space for you.

Finally, I can feel the out-breaths, Sindrome Moscow a genuine space in which to wallow in a delight of structured rock with the flair of indie fireworks that spear the ears. The material is well composed and neatly delivered. I think the duo would benefit from loosening the tie a little and letting the band become a quartet as the material sounds a little tied in to the confines of a biro not a free flowing ink pen. This is definitely a band that I would like to hear develop further as they add a significant note, not only to  my life, but to the world of indie rock, with their insistence that Indie Rock lives in Spanish as well as the absorbed and regimented English regardless of the origination of the band.

So yes, Sindrome Moscow, thank you.

Or more prosaically there is a link between these two. Some will have grappled and are probably still grappling with it as you hold on to your precious cassette only releases, others not.

Pencil cassette connection?

And while I am rambling – here is a clue when dealing with vinyl
