Desmond and the Tutu’s

Desmond and the Tutu’s formed in 2005 come from Johannesburg, and is a great demonstration of the energy running through the South African music scene.

Desmond and the Tutus

Desmond and the Tutus

The creative style Desmond and the Tutu’s, who manage to combine kwela with pop rock, providing an energetic positive sound swishing through my ears.

The band, have recently returned to South Africa after a tour in England and Sweden.

I have sent them an email trying to get some more information on the band, but so far haven’t received a reply, so don’t be surprised if Desmond and the Tutu’s get an update on the Indie Bands Blog soon.

But I don’t need a bio to know this is a great outfit.

Some of the better known bands in the South African scene appear to move out to the USA to pursue their careers as they take off and it would be good to know how the local audiences feel about this, please feel free to comment on the indie bands blog.
