The band of the month is based on activity on the site over the month and by votes cast by readers of the blog over 7 days. With the top twenty spots comprising music from eleven different countries, there is no great surprise that the music is as diverse as the geography.

Lynn Stein and Jon Burr got together over the summer and decided to try out a concept that is a little different using just a bass and vocals and have created something of a phenomenon. Their ever growing fanbase appreciate the way in which Jon and Lynn have been able to improvise comlicated pieces to develop what is becoming a distinctive sound, with the clarity of Lynns voice and the accomplished bass picking by Jon. Having covered a few pieces, the indie bands blog was given an early listening to some of their original compositions, which went down particularly well with a large section of readers of the blog.

The top 20 chart comprises online statistics, which will be finalised at midnight on the 31st, for the month together with votes received up until midnight (UK) time on the 7th November 2009. Duplicate votes only count once, I know it is tempting to keep on voting, but only one will count. If you leave a comment on the blog, it wont appear immediately, unless you have commented before, don’t worry, you will know when the vote has been checked as you will receive a message.

To vote for a band, you can use the contact me form with the name of the band you are voting for, or leave the comment ‘band of the month’ on the relevant band page.

The monthly chart is a combination of on site statistics, which have already been calculated and the voting statistics, so until the 7th October 2009, you can influence the final chart placing for the band of the month top 20. Duplicate votes will only count once, just to save anyone thinking of sending a contact form message and leaving a comment.

The results will be announced on 8th October. Oh one other thing, the Indie Bands Blog is based in the UK, so don’t leave it too late in the day if you are going to vote and you are West of the UK.

The stats, already calculated, show the following 25 bands, in alphabetical order as those still in the race. Now it is your chance to influence the final positions.

To recap: either vote by using the contact me form, with the message band of the month and the name of the band you want to vote for or click on the link for one of the bands below and leave a the comment in the comment form ‘band of the month’.
