Once again I am in a space I shouldn’t be, but hey Tyson Willert is a great space in which to sashay by mistake.
In this instance the prancing ego is subsumed by a sound worthy of consideration. I guess it is the nature of the genre that the ‘I am big I am’ just comes to the fore, but Tyson is able to mellow it with an out-put that really does engage the head rather than the misogynists limp groin. A well honed musicians ear shaves away the rough edges of the sound to deliver material in which the listener becomes entrapped.
Eschewing the ever present easy selection of flicking switches Tyson Willert delivers compositions that engage more than a teenagers fantasy. Urban becomes something real and worthy of far more than a retune of the dial, this is a sound in which to spend some considerable time. Once the plastic veneer has been shorn away instead of cheap recycled paper there is solid oak to study.
This takes the music back to the roots of its formation, aspic jelly containing delicious tasty morsels on which to nibble and before you know it you have had a full five course dinner.
