The Chorderoys

From Austin in Texas we find Greg Denn (Vocals / Guitar), Jon Denn (Vocals / Drums) and Andrew Simmons (Vocals /Bass) also known as The Chorderoys. I have to confess I needed to do a little search on American spelling of corduroy before I got the joke , such is my simple brain.

The Chorderoys

I have enjoyed this Monday of writing, essential Japanese indie-pop, hidden bushels in Canada and two Americana rooted bands and so I find myself back in the loop of early this morning – steeped in Americana, this time with a zest of lime. This is pure and simply Love-Rock for the 21st Century, the standoffish aspects of 2012 melded with ’60′s beatniks a sublime and beautiful space in which to lie amongst the pile of feathers on offer. Bearing in mind this is a band from Texas, that is a pretty radical space in which to find Austin.

The Chorderoys is able to play this dichotomy with the twists of Tango passion tempered with the confines of Deep South American Christian dogma from which they break free and the audience finds themselves listening in on a wild ride of a escape with the love of their life, whilst a chasing crowd of puritans harry them down, all the while employing the wide open spaces of Texas. I could make my own film script here. Thank you guys for making so much available in such a short space of time.
