Lucid Fool
Lucid Fool is a lo-fi psychedelic rock band from Vancouver in the USA. The trio of Cody Railey (Guitar / Lead Vocals), Brandon Clark (Drums / Backing Vocals) and Oliver Godson (Bass) have been around since the turn of the decade and are building up a back-catalogue of material.

I often find my-self garnering information of a far wider space when writing on this website and today I learnt there is a Vancouver in Washington in the USA, as opposed to the more illustrious Canadian counter-part. Enough of my educational deficiencies….. Lucid Fool, well apart from not being Canadian has been around for a few years now and has used that time together to good effect as the members gel well.
The recorded material contains sufficient grain to create that rusty layer over the music, but it is a high-end lo-fi so the material the band plays is also easy to pick-up note by note as references from the well known psychedelic rock bands of old are noted in the sound. Lucid Fool has the knack of creating music which demands attention with-out appearing intrusive, which is one of the joys of the lo-fi route, though that also makes it more difficult to make an impact and I would say that the band deliver it exactly as should be the case.
A generous layer of distortion is drawn apart by well played tracks with the trio show-casing some neat and tidy song writing and delivery.
