Kissed Her Little Sister

There must be millions of aspiring musicians sitting in their rooms working out how to get their thoughts in to a musical format. Most won’t ever make the translation, The vast majority of the rest create something that is so introspective and personal that it doesn’t engage with anyone else. Of that small group left, almost all of them could have saved themselves angst and time by going out to the local record shop and supporting existing musicians to get precisely the sound they failed to create. We are then left with a tiny group of individuals with something to add and from time to time I am fortunate to come across one of these hard working spirits.

Kissed Her Little Sister has an eclectic sound from early ’60s to the latest ‘street sounds’ with tracks ranging from under a minute to over nine minutes and somehow that makes sense and describes the essence of the material, which provides a musical background to the travails and strange paths and side-steps life takes. The material comes out of the speakers like a storyline to reflect on the reality of being a human being. Highs and lows are explored and Jeffrey has a diversity of instrumentals which he deploys to re-create those spaces. Best heard in one go rather than picking tracks, else the flow of the essence is dissipated to a conundrum of tunes.

Delivered with suitable lo-fi production levels to capture that reality of the world or as Rumsfeld put it – There are known knowns; there are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns; that is to say there are things that, we now know we don’t know. But there are also unknown unknowns – there are things we do not know, we don’t know. Though somewhat of a tautology, is that not the reality of life? A life I think Kissed Her Little Sister captures and launches to the ears.
