Broncho
Broncho is an indie garage band from Norman in the USA. The first live gig consisted of six songs in fifteen minutes, how could I not take to the quartet of Ryan Lindsey (Guitar / Vocal), Ben King (Guitar / Vocal), Nathan Price (Drums) and Johnathon Ford (Bass / Vocal) and releasing material on pink Vinyl, the day just gets better.
Harking back to the sounds of the late ’70s early ’80′s this is music which naturally sits in my ears. Songs lasting well under three minutes pack much in to a short space. Broncho is a frenzy of activity, played within a tight time-frame, the material nevertheless isn’t hurried. Which seems somewhat contradictory, but notes are left to hang in the air, whilst the crisp rapid drumming is clear and pin-point accurate. The vocal has that lazy twang that is of the 21st Century. This is definitely a case of where less is more.
On an extensive US tour as I write, it would be worth taking time-out to go and see them live, blink and you may miss it.
This video lasts a mere 2:40, but packs in enough material for a good 15 minutes for most bands.
