It is a good when bands become involved in Charitable projects and I was recently approached asking I bring to the notice of the readers that that 100 Monkeys members Jerad Anderson, Jackson Rathbone, Lawrence Abrams, Benjamin Graupner, and Benjamin Johnson are playing a tribute for their lost friend Spencer Bell in Dallas, Texas on April 24th, 2010.

In the afternoon there will be a concert for all age groups and in the evening an 18+ only concert at Trees.

Proceeds from the event will go towards research in to Adrenal Cancer Research.

The Stevedores, Drew and the Medicinal Pen, Tin Tin Can, Evro and The Kissing Club will also be playing at the show.

In addition to the show itself there will also be a raffle, which doesn’t require attendance. The raffle includes items such as a guitar signed by Bowling for Soup, autographed pictures from Simple Plan, a special designed t-shirt by Kelly Rathbone, and autographed portraits of the bands.  Winners of the raffle need not be present to win.  Details for ordering tickets can be found on the Artists Supporting a Cure for Cancer Website

I am so glad that Spencer’s name is getting out there… this is an amazing cause. My only wish is that I could attend the concert. I hope that the turn out is fantastic!

Thank you for posting this Tim. I hope that a lot of new people will come to hear not only Spencer’s work, but that of all the other bands that are performing. I went to my first Spencer Bell Legacy concert in August 2009 and was simply amazed…at the music, at the love that everyone had in that room for Spencer, and how friendly people were. I made some new friends that day. So please join us in Dallas for a good time and maybe you will find another indie band whose music you like and want to follow.

Spencer was an incredible artist, a proud pain in the ass, and all in all a Beautiful Soul. I think it is incredible to see Friends, Strangers and Families, all gathering together to make The music Lives on.
Spencer inspired so many people, me included and my life’s never been the same since these poeple entered it, Spencer leading them. And i’m glad he did!

If you have the opportunity to be there, don’t miss it! Good cause, Great Music and a definite unforgettable show !!

And if you feel like making new friends, check out the Memorial website too : http://www.spencerbellmemorial.com . It is an amazing community.

thanks for having talked about it!
