The Fury!

Here I am prasing a band which, when I received an email from Alex, I was met by reasons instinctively, I wouldn’t write an article: classic rock, an exclamation mark at the end of the band name.  I was not expecting much when I played the tracks. (hey it is an old punk rocker thing)

It is difficult to believe that The Fury! have played together for less than a year (discounting their time as The Angry Pirates in 2008 before Steve joined the band). The execution is superb, the control is absolutely right and the energy still manages to ring through.

The Fury! take classic rock through an evolution, I can hear Bon Scott from AC/DC, but I can hear so much more. This is a band who I would happily sit through an album, listening to classic riffs, which are not just a guitarists ego trip. The 12 bar blues blends superbly with rock and I have little doubt these are a talented group of musicians who have much to bring to the world of music.

As an old punk-rocker I can assure you, that really wasn’t what I anticipated and I hope to catch them live pretty soon and the indie bands blog will provide you with an update, together with  details of their EP as soon as I have the information.

…Thanks Alex.

These lads regularly attend our jam night on Wednesdays, & have played gigs here, always keep a weekend free for them, we were the last venue they played as The Angry Pirates, now as The Fury they are even better, their own material is very good as well, has that classic rock feel to it, 4 very talented lads, I hope they go far, they deserve it.

Have been following these guys for awhile now and was hooked the first time I heard them. Very tight musically. Cant see them as yet, as I live in the states, but they have an open invitation to visit here anytime!

I can hear early AC/DC too! What a great band, really lean, clean rock. Thanks for posting this :-)
