The Chapman Family

The Chapman Family from Stockton-on-Tees in England burrowed away out of recorded sight for a couple of years, but the expanded line-up of Kingsley (Vocals / Keys), Pop (Lead Guitar), Owen (Guitar), Scott (Drums) and Kevin (Bass) haven’t been disappeared, they have been working on new material and on 18th June will be releasing their new EP Cruel Britannia.

What is not to like about the socially angst riven quintet? The material rips around the room seeking to drive darts of consciousness in to the listener. The Chapman Family mix their stream of social questioning within well constructed musical frames, which gives the out-put an even more powerful message.

There is a poetically lilting quality to the music, which is compounded by a genuine emotional involvement with the message being delivered.

With aggressive use of distortion The Chapman Family cleverly adds a sense of the desperation being broadcast in the message, which is delivered in a swirl of guitar, whilst percussion and bass hammer home the sentiments, all overlain by an intoxicating vocal.

The EP release will be accompanied by an extensive English and Welsh tour.
