Tall Ships
Tall Ships are a three piece band originally from Flamouth and now based in Brighton, in the UK. Ric (guitars, vocals, keys, drums) Matt (Bass, Keys, Sampler) and Jamie (Drums, Bass) got together while at The Arts College in Falmouth in late 2008.

Playing as a guitar based threesome, it would be easy for the Tall Ships to loose themselves in the world of extended guitar break and reliance on volume. They however confound expectations with music comprising of strong melody and if anything it is the understated hush of the out-put which marks out the band.
In the short period they have been around, the three have blended together well, creating an easy playing style which permits the compositions to concentrate on their strengths which are their ability to write songs and layer together a sound which is at once demanding of attention, whilst subtle in delivery. For a three piece out-fit that is no mean achievement.
Underlying the sentiment of the music is a definite reference to the sea, perhaps Falmouth and Brighton as bases should not be any great surprise, but on listening to the sound, I get a sense of the open space and sea voyages in inclement weather.
Hugely relevant to the 21st Century, this is pretty timeless music. Does that make this music for wallpapers? Not a bit of it, with the depth of musical creativity, Tall Ships have a sound which will meet the expectations of fans of psychedelic rock and keep lovers of strong rhythm and melody in a comfortable place.
There is no danger of any grass lying under their feet, the past twelve months have found the trio releasing two EPs and an extensive European tour.

They have already lined up an extensive UK tour for May, well worth getting to see live.
