Sculpture
Sculpture sits within the experimental music scene in Cambridge, England, like a glove. Dan Hayhurst plays reel to reel tape recorder, computer, sampler, effectron and walkman, whilst Reuben Sutherland plays video zoetrope record deck.
It has been a while since I took a look at the superb local (Cambridge) experimental arena, so let’s get that right.
Sculpture employ zoetrope projector record deck, tape loops, cassettes, samples, cdj and lo-fi electronic noise to emerge with a scintillating sound. Though retrospective of the world of Steampunk, the do are firmly stamped in today. The combination of image and sound marks the out-fit as bleeding edge exponents of the essence of electronic experimental music.
