Emerging from London in England is the indie rock duo of Leigh Alexandra and Drew Wale who make up Kissimmee.

Warming up the day is an engaging rock driven sound that charges out of the speakers like a bull on speed, as raucous energy hurls the listener from their slumber. A reference to alternative new wave from yesteryear is wrapped in to a current consciousness.

The material is powerfully delivered, but it doesn’t hurtle in to that space of power-rock as the sympathetic vocals add a soft focus lens to the sound which gives an intriguing space in which the band operates. Firmly rooted in indie rock, Kissimme is also able to deliver a slide towards a more considered emotional context, due in full to the range of vocal expressions on hand. I personally particular enjoy the retro new-wave with which the band plays on occasion.

Having just released a new single This City with an LP which has just finished the recording stage set for release later this year. Kissimme can now be found in the UK playing on a regular basis and worth taking a trip out to see.

This City is available on This City - Kissimmee*
