Jungle Doctors
Jungle Doctors – is a five piece indie pop band from Teddington in England with a five piece line-up of Sam Budd (Lead Vocals / Guitars / Keys), Will Tyler (Backing Vocals / Bass / Guitars), David Thomas (Lead Guitar / Backing Vocals), Angus McGuinness (Rhythm Guitar) and Louis Watton (Drums / Occasional Cow Bell).
This is one of those bands who produce Marmite tracks and I really didn’t get a handle on the opener – Boat Song – on their Making Conversation – debut EP, the good news is that there is far more in the repertoire. Almost verging on surf-pop the quintet rattle along with an infectious cheeky smile that captures the audience. A preference for the higher registers keeps the lightness of the mood bubbling away through the material as they employ a diversity of instrumentation to achieve the desired sound. Conversely to the opener the final of the four track EP – I Can’t Believe – at over six minutes drops the bass and rhythm to a more central spotlight and this is a stunningly decent composition.
Newly on the scene Jungle Doctors have made an impressive start and are fast developing a strong following and it will be of some considerable interest to find out how far they are able to travel in the industry.
Making Conversation which is available on * is a well crafted release as it demonstrates the superb range of sounds that they are able to produce.
