On hitting play, I thought I had headed by mistake to Berlin or was listening to New Romanticism from the ’80s, but no I had really stepped into Co. Tipperary in Ireland with Silent Noise Parade and what a pleasurable place to be.

Moody lyrics set inside ethereal electronics greet the ears and the material is full of layers of sounds that float around the brain before injecting themselves in to the blood stream. The listener is taken on a flotation tank ride of immersive reality as Silent Noise Parade tempt the mind along arcs of refractive tentacles which flicker across the room, before disappearing like smoke leaving the audience to reach out for the next pulse.

Whilst the music holds a myriad of structures it is not complicated on the ears, enabling the listener to wallow with delight in the music that the quintet create. Having had the opportunity to listen to numerous bands from Ireland, Silent Noise Parade is of considerable interest as they play a style of music that is not often heard from fellow countrymen which would settle neatly in the German club scene.

Having been around for a couple of years now the band have cut their baby teeth, released an eleven track LP Electric Lives and the Nightmare That Follows – Silent Noise Parade which is available on iTunes* and this is a year that should see them make significant strides.
